I can’t believe that we are done with the first half of the year. Last few months have been a busier yet super exciting phase of my life. Since moving to my new home, I have loved every second of my existence in this new neighbourhood. The Suburban vibe here is so relaxing and inviting. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE cities. I love working in Downtown Toronto – sitting at a corporate building in the Financial district, and talking about commercial buildings. But coming home to a place full of natural beauty has always been a pleasure.
The area offers a plenty of natural and man-made parks and outdoor activities. The list of things to do and places to see are quite endless. One of my favorite picks this summer was to explore some Ontario farms. After a 15 minute, scenic drive we arrived at this huge farm in Caledon. I was surprised to see the number cars in the parking lot. Hundreds of people had come for Strawberry picking. It was almost noon when I got there and was quite nervous that the farm be may be done for the day as I saw lot of people were leaving with buckets full of Strawberries. Luckily, it was not the case and took a tractor ride to the picking area, and honestly, the ride itself was quite fun!
But I couldn’t get over how HOT it was outside! Thankfully, I wore a full white outfit (with the touch of red) to beat the weather. Yes dark clothes absorb the heat faster than whites in the sun. My big hat came to rescue my face from the harsh UV rays. I know it’s not the best time to get on the field, but if you happened to do so, don’t ever forget your sunscreen. It definitely acts as a barrier to protect your skin from sunburn and aging.
I had a great time picking my own Strawberries and looking forward to come back for more fruits and veggies during the next few months.
Stay tuned for more updates.
Until next time stay happy!
